Ballspielverein Borussia (BVB) Dortmund is a German sports club based in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia and is best known as one of the most successful clubs in German football as well as the reigning Bundesliga champions. In addition to seven German football championships and two German Cup victories, Dortmund won the Cup Winners' Cup in 1966 (becoming the first German team to win a European title) and the UEFA Champions League in 1997.
